I went to Turkey for the first time when I was five years old. We spent part of the summer visiting my maternal grandparents in the small town of Kozlu, near the Black Sea. I don’t remember much about that first trip to Turkey, but I remember that I didn’t like the food . . .

Mother Teresa’s quote has been running through my mind a lot these days. Do I spread love wherever I go? And how would I do that? What does it look like? Do people come to me leaving happier? When I really thought about it, I couldn’t say that was the case.
