Shiny Objects

Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and coughing, wheezing, and whining.

Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and coughing, wheezing, and whining.

I’ve been sick for the last two weeks, which has kind of sucked, BUT, on the plus side, I work from home. So I can wear my comfy clothes, blow my nose to my hearts content, and cough without worrying about bothering anyone but me.

I’m finally on the mend and looking forward to getting out this weekend. We might go to a pumpkin patch and finally get our pumpkins. What are your plans for the weekend?

Oooh look at these shiny objects . . .

I’ve been reading . . . The Memoir Project, The Girl Who Drank the Moon, and just started The Burning Girl by Claire Messud.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill is the 2017 Newberry Award winner. I read it for one of my reading challenges. It was a sweet fairy-tale-like story, and I enjoyed it.

I’ve been watching . . . The Mindy Project. The other usuals: The Voice, Will & Grace, and The Good Place.

I’ve been listening to . . . Neko Case and the Beatles. I’m obsessing over “Blackbird.” For some reason, I can’t get that song off my mind.

Of course, I’m also watching and listening to the Tiny Desk concerts. My latest find that I love—this guy Jidenna. He is seriously good. His lyrics are clever and timely. Definitely worth checking out.

Have a wonderful weekend!
