First, you always wait for the people to get off the elevator before you get in. Are we in that much of a hurry that we can’t wait the .02 seconds it takes for someone to get out?
Second, why do people always feel the need to be stone-cold robots on an elevator, specifically in your own building? I’m no chatty Kathy by any means but I at least say hello or good morning.
And then there is my all-time pet-peeve: When you get on an elevator and there are already people on the elevator and they don’t move an inch to make room for you to get in. And I’m not talking about a crammed elevator either. I can get on an elevator in my building and the doors will open and there are two people on the elevator with a suitcase or a cart or something and they are taking up as much space as they can and they don’t move at all to make room. Geez, I’m tiny but not that tiny.
Yeah, it’s not the end of the world but come on, a little kindness goes a long way. And I think we could all do with a little common courtesy these days.
