Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and Game of Thrones, what else?
In one week and two days, winter will be here. And never has winter been so hotly anticipated. July 16 is the day, and I’m so excited! We’re having a little Game of Thrones get together for the premiere. I’m a hardcore fan so no talking will be allowed during the show.
Besides waiting for Game of Thrones, I’m finally going to a Cubs game this weekend. Can’t wait to see my Cubbies! Then I’m getting together with my family for a wine tasting and a sampling of Turkish food. Everyone has to make one Turkish dish. I’m making mucver, which is like a zucchini pancake or fritter. I’ve only made it once before, so fingers crossed it turns out.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Oooh look at these shiny objects . . .
- One of the better trailer breakdowns swirling around on the Internet.
- What to expect from Season 7 of Game of Thrones.
- The fan theories are getting a little out of hand. Not sure I believe this one—although I want to.
- Where will you be for the premiere of Game of Thrones? You could be here.
- What are your predictions for Season 7?
I’ve been reading . . . Evicted by Matthew Desmond and The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy.
I finished A People’s History of Chicago by Kevin Coval, the book of poems celebrating the history of Chicago through the people “on the margins.” I have mixed feelings about this book and the poems, which I suppose is a good thing. Stay tuned for a separate review of this book.
I’ve been watching . . . again, not much. Haven’t really been watching television. Besides, I’m waiting for GAME OF THRONES!
I’ve been listening to . . . Deval Premal, Cat Stevens, and mostly mellow music.
