Shiny Objects

Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and sick days.

Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and sick days.

I’ve been sick this week, and I am a big baby when it comes to being sick. I think I’m making up for it as a kid. We weren’t really allowed to get sick. Unless you had a 104° fever or lost a limb, you sucked it up and went to school. Now, I do everything I can to baby myself. I curl up on the couch in my cozy jammies with mint tea and peanut butter toast, surrounded by my two kitties, wadded up tissues, and every vitamin under the sun, and I read my books, watch movies, and take naps.

So this weekend I’m mostly staying in and doing everything I can to take good care of myself since I’m heading out to Phoenix next week for a quick trip. I’m looking forward to soaking up the warmth and sun. What are your plans this weekend?

Oooh look at these shiny objects . . .

I’ve been reading . . . The Sympathizer still. Also started Madonna in Fur by Sabahattin Ali, a Turkish novelist.

I’ve been watching . . . Grace and Frankie, Season 3. I tried to stretch it out but since I was sick, I binge watched it. Couldn’t help it. Ok, so my assessment . . . overall, not as great as Season 2 but still really good. Episode 7. Oh my god! Hilarious! I loved it. Laughed my ass off. Then came episode 9, and I cried, as in sobbed. Probably not for the reasons anyone else would, but there was one scene that really got to me. Now I have to wait another year for Season 4. Ugh. In the meantime, I’m trying out the docuseries Chef’s Table on Netflix. One episode in, and I’m hungry for Italian food.

MORE IMPORTANTLY . . . only 107 more days until Game of Thrones Season 7! But who’s counting?

I’ve been listening to . . . Cher. Yes, I finally had a week without listening to the La La Land soundtrack.

Have a wonderful weekend!
