Why yes, I am easily distracted by shiny things and Cher!
It’s all things Cher, baby. Going to see her in DC this weekend on my birthday. Best birthday ever! Only thing to top it off would be if Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gosling were going with me and Glen Phillips was opening for Cher.
Oooh look at these shiny objects . . .
- Cher is pretty much a bad-ass.
- This is the show I get to look forward to—and the only time I would ever go to a casino.
- I really want this for my birthday, AND I got it thanks to my friend Tracey. It is super cozy and awesome.
- Alicia Keyes wore this necklace on the The Voice, and now I am slightly obsessed.
- Because this made me laugh over and over.
I’ve been reading . . . The Sympathizer and In the Unlikely Event. It’s slow going on The Sympathizer. I finished In the Unlikely Event, which was an ok read. It served my purpose of an easy read while still reading The Sympathizer.
In the Unlikely Event is a book by Judy Blume based on true events in her hometown of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Back in the early 50s, three planes crashed over the town within two months. Elizabeth used to be on the flight path for Newark Airport. The overall story focuses on a young girl growing up in Elizabeth and the people in her life. Blume did a decent job with the book, focusing on each character’s story while also sharing the effect of the crashes on the people of the town. She wrote this as a novel for adults, but I thought it still read like a young adult book.
I’ve been watching . . . The Voice. Finished the episodes of Life in Pieces on demand so now I’m watching The Voice. But I’m most excited about this show’s new season starting today on Netflix. You know what show I’ll be watching this week.
I’ve been listening to . . . oh well, you know, the usual. I’m not even going to say it.
Have a wonderful weekend!
