So I’ve been thinking . . . what do I do?
I’ve been struggling these past few weeks and not writing. Yes, I am affected by the election. No, I am not pouting and don’t tell me to “get over it.” (There are bigger issues here at play.)
I haven’t been writing because I don’t know what to write. I have lots of ideas and lots to say. But what do I actually write and share? Here. On my blog. In this space. On a Friday post.
My web site was never meant to be a political forum. Nor do I want it to be moving forward. There are other outlets for that, and if I really want a political forum, then I’ll create another blog or web site.
What this web site was intended for was a way for me to share my stories, thoughts, and inspirations; it was intended as a place for me to build up my writing; it was intended to show my work and provide info for clients; and it was intended as a way to connect with others.
But when there is big news, I can’t ignore it. When there are big changes and fears and concerns, I can’t ignore it. When hate is leading the way, I can’t ignore it. When our country is divided, I can’t ignore it.
So while I will not post here on my Friday post specifically about politics, I will continue to use my voice, share my thoughts, tell my stories, and express my beliefs. I will continue to be my most authentic self. I will do what is most reflective of who I am (which is constantly evolving). And some of that may include politics.
Have a peaceful and kind weekend!
