So I’ve been thinking . . . well, thinking about a lot. So much going on in the world right now and there is just no ignoring it.
And not that we should ignore it; it’s just that it’s easy to get caught up in the hopelessness. I know I can (and then I spend countless hours on the Internet reading every theory and “secret” fact about Game of Thrones–anything for a diversion). Right now, I don’t have much to say or add. Even the usual things I do, see, or read to inspire me are not enough. So I have none of those to offer.
Many people have said it; it’s no longer a time for just prayers. Action needs to be taken. Changes must be made. I pray they are changes that actually address the real problems.
For now, I will continue to believe in the good and the love in the world. I’ll look for love in each day. I’ll spread kindness in words and actions. I’ll be a vocal warrior against hate and for love.
And another thing (or two or five) . . .
- The Greeks had six different words for love.
- If you haven’t been able to sleep these days, check this out. (Wish I would’ve thought of it!)
- Exactly what I was thinking on Sunday night.
- Stark, of course.
- Because this makes me happy.
I’ve been reading . . . Things Fall Apart still. The author does a great job of illuminating how fear of weakness can direct a person’s life.
I’ve been watching . . . Game of Thrones. Happy shitting indeed! At last, some satisfaction: Battle of the Bastards on Father’s Day, epic battle, dragons and fire, Daenerys kicking ass, Jon Snow didn’t die, Ramsey got exactly what he deserved (finally justice), my favs Tormund and Ser Davos live to see another day, Sansa is right (and has some damn good lines), the Stark banner unfurls at Winterfell, and more power to the women.
On the sad-side: RIP Wun Wun, last of his kind. And am I the only one sad about Rickon? For the love of god, Rickon zigzag, drop and roll, anything but run in a straight line. That was heart wrenching. And where is GHOST?????? I miss him and just want to know he is safe and sound. I canNOT take another dire wolf going.
Season finale on Sunday. You know what I’ll be doing.
I’ve been listening to . . . Natasha Bedingfield. Forgot how good her songs are.
Have a wonderful weekend!
