Friday Thoughts

So I’ve been thinking . . . the wrong solutions are being proposed for the wrong problems.

So I’ve been thinking . . . the wrong solutions are being proposed for the wrong problems.

I try not to get too serious or political in my Friday posts but I’m angry, I’m sad, and I’m tired of all the blaming and finger pointing. I can’t ignore what is going on in our country. We’ve had more tragedy and everyone is trying to make sense of it. People are tired of nothing changing and are calling for action.

Well, one guy has the solution to the problem of mass shootings in our country. Trump. And I actually agree with him—let’s ban the Muslims. And while we are at it, ban the Muslims who are American citizens born and raised here. Let’s do it. Because if that is what he—and what people believe—is the solution to the problem of mass shootings in our country, then by all means, let’s get rid of the Muslims. Then let’s see if the mass shootings stop. (Full disclosure: I was raised in a non-practicing Muslim family. Guess we’d still be banned, right?)

Sad to say, but I think there still will be shootings. Why? Because it is the WRONG solution to a misdiagnosed problem. Enough said.

And another thing (or two or five) . . . nothing this week because there is already enough posted online everywhere.

I’ve been reading . . . Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I can’t believe I have never read this before. Seems like a fitting read for right now.

I’ve been watching . . . Game of Thrones (duh!). Ok, so what was the point of the Blackfish surviving the Red Wedding? Don’t get it. And I am waiting for this season to come together and make sense. Only two more episodes left and this next one is already making me nervous. It’s called “The Battle of the Bastards.” I don’t think Jon Snow and his army will fare well. Gulp.

I’ve been listening to . . . my happy mix again. Just needed it.

Have a wonderful weekend!
