Some days a little art is needed for inspiration. This piece always brings me peace and a happy serenity.
I was lucky enough to go to the Art Institute last week for the Van Gogh exhibit. Even for a weekday morning it was crowded. And while I was moved by the exhibit and enjoyed it, I felt a little frenetic after being jostled about among the crowd of art lovers making their way through the exhibit.
After the exhibit, I went to my favorite spot at the Art Institute. I slowly climbed the stairs to reach my destination, sat down at the bench at the top of the stairs, and looked straight ahead at my favorite piece of art, Sky Above Clouds IV by Georgia O’Keefe. There is nothing like sitting there in the quiet of the museum, taking in the beauty of the sky and clouds and colors of this painting.
Happy Monday! (Happy tax day!)
