Sometimes life doesn’t always go as planned. And sometimes Monday Mornings posts don’t get posted until Wednesdays. In the afternoon.
There are times when all the best-laid plans, daily routines, schedules, and to-dos lists fall apart, and I need something to help me get back into the swing of things. So I try things, anything, to get me going again. Usually I attempt some semblance of my lost morning routine: meditation, journal, read, stretches, shower, breakfast, write. Even if I only meditate for 10 minutes instead of 20 minutes, it helps me reset. Because I find that when I’m off the track, thinking I will jump back on the train at 100 miles an hour doesn’t work. If I haven’t done my routine at all for a few days, going back to it at 100% most often ensures failure. So maybe I start back at 50% and then the next day 80% and then by the third day, I’m back at 100%. And, here it is the third day, and I am (mostly) back in the swing of things.
As part of my daily routine, I spend some time doing research online for stories that inspire, uplift, and inform. So it felt good to get back to that. This week (and actually last week), I’ve been finding inspiration from an organization Love What Matters. They celebrate the stories and experiences in life that matter and share these heart-warming, inspiring stories on their web site, Facebook, and Instagram. Believe me, on days when all you hear is bad news, this is the site you want to check out.
Do you find days or weeks when it’s hard to get back into the groove? Or when you get back from vacation, do you find it difficult to transition back to work and your daily routine? What do you do to get back into the swing of things?
Happy Monday Wednesday!
