Friday Thoughts

So I’ve been thinking . . . You never know what someone is going through or what’s going on in his/her head at any given time.

So I’ve been thinking . . . You never know what someone is going through or what’s going on in his/her head at any given time. I try to remember that when I get all judgey-judgey or impatient with people. And today I needed that reminder.

I’ve been reading . . . I finished The Martian by Andy Weir. (Don’t worry, no spoilers here.). My quick take: cool science stuff I don’t really understand but geek out on, a great story that sucks you in so you forgive the so-so writing, kind of flat dialogue and cliché secondary characters, and a well-developed main character you are rooting for the whole time. You wonder: will he or won’t he make it? Great read. Can’t wait to see the movie now.

I’ve been watching . . . Finished Entourage, all eight seasons. I LOVE this show! Forget all the Hollywood stuff, the sex, the partying—the real heart of the story is the relationship between four lifelong friends. And that’s what I love most. The writing is clever and strong most of the way through. I didn’t love Season 7 and Season 8 was a little cheesy but I don’t care—I liked the way the show ended. It left me with a good feeling. And now I have another movie to see.

I’ve been listening to . . . Florence + the Machine. Going to see the band in Portland this weekend so I’m immersing myself in all three albums. Love the first two albums but I like their latest album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful the best.
